How Do My Packages Work?

You are purchasing 7 plays, 30 plays, 60 plays, or 100 plays.

Those are PLAYS - not DAYS.

Let me explain.

Let's say you purchase a 30 PLAY package.

If I don't love a game on a particular day, I will take a pass. Let's say from Sunday through Saturday I release only 4 plays.

That's 4 plays over 7 days

At the end of the week, you will have 26 PLAYS remaining on your 30 PLAY package even though a full 7 DAYS have gone buy.

This allows me to focus ONLY on the games I like, and in theory, improving my winning percentage over the long haul.

You don't have to do anything. Your package automatically adjusts whenever I pass on a given day.

Carlos DePaul's Rating System

A "rating" is nothing more than an indicator of how much I like a game in relation to how much you should be investing on it in proportion to your bankroll.

It's always amazed me how guys make this so damn difficult.

Four tiers: 25, 50, 75, and 100 dimes.

If 50 is twice as big as 25, then 100 is twice as big as 50.

That's MY scale. For you, it's about how much of that bankroll you're willing to play on a daily basis.

If you're got $100 MAX you're willing to invest on a given day, and I've got a 50 Dime release, you should be betting no more than $50.

If my rating is 25 dimes, then your wager should be $25 accordingly.

The rating and investment are ratios that move accordingly.

Who is Carlos DePaul?

My late grandfather, who passed away in 2012, was a bookmaker. My Dad was, too. I can remember spending weekends at his house in Miami as a child, watching the two of them answering phones, giving out numbers, writing down wagers for "Client # 145" or "Client #184" for XYZ dollars. God forbid my grandmother would enter the room with food or drink because the "men" were working and couldn't be bothered. That's how Saturday and Sunday mornings were spent.

The rest of the day we either watched sports or spent the afternoon outside in the Miami heat having a catch or shooting hoops. Great childhood memories, and something I enjoy doing with my two teen sons, too.

My Dad retired years ago, but his passion for sports has never left, and it was passed on to me.

No need to be a bookmaker nowadays with the advent of legalized gambling in nearly 70% of the USA. But handicapping games is another story.

Every bookmaker worth a damn is a handicapper anyway. You need to be in order to set a line not to get burned.

I have no specialty; I love all sports. Hope you enjoy my picks. And I endeavor to make you some cash along the way.

Today's Complimentary Play

10-8 with my last 18 freebies with tonight's play on Detroit (-130) at home against Minnesota.

The Tigers open this series against the Twins playing excellent baseball, having won five of their last six games. In those five victories, Detroit's offense has been firing on all cylinders, producing 37 runs.

The Tigers are turning to right-hander Troy Melton, who has made an immediate impact since returning from the injured list. Melton missed the first two months of the season because of right elbow inflammation, but he has shown no signs of rust. In three starts since returning, he is 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA, giving Detroit quality innings every time he has taken the mound.

Minnesota arrives at Comerica Park struggling. The Twins have lost nine of their last 12 games, including dropping three of four at home to Kansas City over the weekend.

The Twins counter with right-hander Taj Bradley, whose recent form has taken a turn for the worse. Bradley entered his last two starts with an impressive 2.77 ERA through his first nine outings, but the results since then have been troubling.

In starts at Pittsburgh and at home against the White Sox, Bradley worked just 8.2 innings, allowing 12 hits, eight runs, and seven walks, while Minnesota lost both games. The command issues and increased traffic on the bases have been a sharp contrast to what he showed earlier in the season.
